Are you a young adult, ages 18-24? For many young adults, this can be a time of life filled with transitions. Many young
adults are in the process of making big life choices... college, career, location. In each case, there are many
changes happening emotionally, physically and psychologically. This is the time in our lives when we often learn who we are
and begin to grow into the person we want to be. It can be a confusing time. There are alot of pressures which seem to grow
each year. Figuring out how to live on your own, navigate friendships and romantic relationships and decide many of the big
questions about your future can become overwhelming.
There are many ways you may cope with these pressures
and stress...
• Become depressed or anxious
• Abuse drugs and/or alcohol
• Ignore responsibilities such as school or a job
• Shop and overspend
• Pull away from
friends or family
• Change eating and/or sleeping patterns
• Lower self-care
I can
help you sort through all the feelings and the questions so that you can use this time in your life as a period of self-discovery
and get on a path that feels right for you. Often times a supportive, open-minded and non-judgmental listener is just
what is needed. And, if we discover that there is a problem that needs tackling we can do it together. Therapy is a process
of coming to better understand your reasons for making certain choices and learning how to live the life you want
to live from the healthiest place possible.
